Prompt a Robot

Use a hardware robotics platform in combination with LLMs to replicate fluid and "natural" motion in the environment, or some set of interesting interactions that can be modelled with prompts. You could also propose a more versatile learning tool, along the lines of Teachable Machines. An open source robot will be available at the hackathon for you to test your solution on, and there are several companies interested in the use cases you explore.

Develop a system that allows a robot to interpret prompts from an LLM and translate them into smooth, adaptive, and context-aware movements or interactions. This could mean replicating natural gestures, navigating an environment with subtle cues, or learning versatile new tasks in a user-configured workflow.

Goals

  • Use LLMs for high-level instruction parsing, intent recognition, and interaction logic.
  • Implement motion-planning algorithms that yield fluid, natural movement (not just rigid commands).
  • Develop interactive learning systems where the robot improves through user feedback or demonstration.
  • Explore real-world use cases: education, elder care, assistive technology, entertainment, or manufacturing.

Outputs

  • Working prototype integrated with the provided open-source robot.
  • Demonstration showing prompt-to-motion interaction.
  • Documentation of technical approach and potential applications.
